The Random Video Thread

Following wyre's cracking idea here's a thread dedicated to those interesting videos plastered all over YouTube, Google Video etc. So to get the ball rolling here's another Robot Chicken Star Wars movie...

Feel the Force

To boldly get put back a bit

The world wept in unison yesterday, as the news broke that the new Star Trek film has been pushed back five months, from Christmas 2008 to May (May) 2009.

Supposedly it's about box office potential, and giving it a clearer run... I don't know. I just don't know what to say. There's nothing that can make this better, we're all just going to have to hang in there. If anyone wants to talk about it, you know I'm here for you.

Message, Spock?

As that other JJ Abrams film Cloverfield hits the theatres in the US, the sudden appearance of this site makes me over-excited, and more than a little impatient...

The first five who reply...

The first five who reply to this will get a Forest II DVD sent to them, completely free (even if you're in America!). I've made a DVD and I'm excited about it. We're talking early February for this.

It has all the usual DVD stuff - outtakes, scene selection, subtitles, and ofcourse the first Forest film. Nice animated menus... it's pretty good. I'll present it as well as I can, case-wise, but I can't guaruntee that part of it will be brilliant. But it will be. Oh yes, it will be.

Anyway. Like I say, first five, free. After that, you can buy me a Guinness.

The Forest II: Relentless Thirst Released; reality explodes

It's been nearly two years, but we're finally done. We had a premiere on Saturday, and it was lovely. Thanks to the 50 or so people who showed up - many more than we were expecting!

THE FOREST II: RELENTLESS THIRST
A year or two after the grim events that led Mike and Liam to take a shortcut through The Forest, they find themselves once again beerless and in desperate need of a fix. They must battle The Simons to retrieve beer. This 20-minute, tongue-in-cheek deadpan action comedy is directed by and stars Liam Comerford and Michael Connor as themselves, and Simon Plant as The Simons. 3D work by Paul Canning.

We hope you all enjoy. I am now going to sleep for the next few months at least - I'll see you all in the spring.

Over 3 years since I last posted a blog, but I feel in the mood..

... I just clicked the "render" button for the presentation version of The Forest II, which we will be showing in Liverpool tomorrow. It's been a long time coming.

Not in Kansas

If ever there was a piece of news designed to upset my wife, it's this - they're remaking the Wizard of Oz after 68 years... and this time they're making it nasty.

I can't believe...

there's going to be a sequel - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6940082.stm

For the love of all that is good, and original, and just perfectly fine as it is, can't they just quit with the dreary remakes now? Why is the onetime genius behind The Jerk now unable to find work without warming over the corpse of Peter Sellers?

Sunshine - a review (with spoilers)

Peepo!Peepo! This isn't a review of Giz's good lady wife - that would be a bit odd. No, this is a review of the film Sunshine, by Danny Boyle, and like any good review it contains spoilers. I'm going to tell you what happens, and exactly why what happens is rubbish.

Because it is rubbish. Really rubbish. So rubbish that I'm probably doing you a favour by spoiling the film for you if you haven't seen it, so please read on.
