I did indeed have a lovely day, well, weekend......

Friday night I went out with Gav, had a few beers and I did a bit of singing on the karaoke, as you do. We then went back to the 'Luxury Townhouse Apartment', as he jokingly likes to call it (because I don't live with him, I live out of the town centre, mine is 'The Country Residence'!) and spent a very relaxing evening eating junk food, watching trashy telly and suchlike.......

Just one last then, to let you all know how it's going so far.

I've been living with Mum since November 27th and I don't quite feel settled yet. I need a blind that stops the 5 street lights, all placed within mere feet of one another, from keeping me awake most night for starters!

Dolly is absolutely loving watching all the different birds that come into our garden to the numerous feeders Mum has out. I'm loving watching them too, as a matter of fact it's been ages since I had a garden.

A week ago, the game turned one year old, a year in which 5 tasks have been assigned by me and carried out by you lot. And now finally, you'll understand why you've been going through all that trouble!

So here it comes : I'm integrating the GBG into the Boince scoring system of the site (http://www.boinng.com/story/the-boince-starts-here)!

Remember the Boince? It was a clumsily introduced feature whereby you got to collect boince for every article you posted, or comment, or poll etc... only it was rubbish because I applied it retrospectively, so most people were separated by about 10,000 boince each with unassailable leads... well, not anymore.

I've just reset all the boince to a big fat zero.

Sadly, we seem to be getting targetted by increasingly clever spam-bots at the moment, intent on filling up our hallowed pages with lots of lovely links to viagra, goats, plasticine, or whatever else they're obsessed with. Too many are slipping through the net for my liking, so I've had to take drastic action - from now on, new users will have to go into an approval queue and wait for me to decide they're human, before they can log in and post.

Just thought I should mention - Planet Boinng is 8 today!

Well the success of the Boinng Game in keeping this place going for the last week or so got me to thinking... and the result is Boince for everybody!

Boince is the new currency of Boinng. Like all the best currencies (of certain developing states) it can't actually be exchanged for goods or services, and it has no monetary value whatsoever, but it's real easy to earn! For every story or feature article you submit you now get 5 juicy boince in your virtual back pocket. Blogs, forum topics, and polls all earn you 3, comments are worth 2, and adding a piccie gets you 1 too.
