Sony's XCP system: Fair?

Like most consumers I was very worried to hear the scare stories about Sony BMG's "XCP" copy protection system, and the underhanded tricks it performs on a Windows PC.
I was relieved to see this list, however, detailing all the artists and albums which might potentially have infected my computer. The only people on it I've heard of, I can't stand, and something tells me the rest are of a similar middle-of-the-road ilk. Celine Dion, anybody?

Celine Deon? If it comes with free cyanide.

i actually *just* got the Our Lady Peace 'Healthy in Paranoid Times' disc as an anniversary pressie. i've only listened to it in the car thus far (it's great! on par with their previous releases) but i meant to bring it to work with me today and listen to it on my pc. glad i forgot it cos i didnt realize it was on the list! i'll have to check the numbers when i get home.
Re:Sony's XCP system: Fair?
Normally I can't stand the kind of self-righteous people who are against big companies and corporations, but, to be honest, Sony piss me off immensely. I hope they suffer for this.
Re:Sony's XCP system: Fair?
I always kind of liked Sony, although I realise this particular bit of naughtiness is quite bad. What else have you got against them?
Re:Sony's XCP system: Fair?
He's a big Wheatus fan, and they released an album called Suck Fony. Instant hatred.
Re:Sony's XCP system: Fair?
Correct. And also, the woman from Sony who brings their artists into work isn't very nice.
