So, anyway, it's 2008. That means time to say goodbye to that other year we've all been taking for granted - the well worn old sock that was 2007.

2007 was a quiet year for the site really; we've plumbed new depths of inactivity and general memberlessness, but what the hey. As Boinng drifts into what looks certain to be its ninth year on the internet, it's worth remembering that 2007 was undeniably the year of Facebook, and Boinng is defiantly not Facebook. Happily, the law of internet trends means that 2008 must be the year of something else, and thank google for that. I look forward to jumping on the very next bandwagon, wherever it's headed, and leaving the Funwall for dust...

Here are some random 2007 highlights for Lisa and I:

1. It was the year we bought our first house.
2. It was the year we got our two cats, Archie & George, and discovered the true meaning of cute.
3. It was the year we bought a working video camera for three quid (perhaps more of a personal achievement, that one).

But enough of this wallowing in the glories of the past, here's what we have to look forward to in 2008 -

1. Everyone we know is getting married. Seriously, if you know me or Lisa, the chances are you're getting married this year - whether you realise it or not. Good luck!
2. Davros. It has to be, hasn't it?
3. The tenth anniversary of anything exciting that happened in 1998. Nothing springs to mind to be honest.

As I finish this ramble at 5pm, before even a snifter of ale has approached me, I wish a very merry new year to all. Lest old acquaintance be forgot - I'm looking at you scradge and the rest - may 2008 be a very fine time indeed.
