blooming marvellous I
blooming marvellous I thought - really excellent. some real surprises (man from gallifrey, she has returned), some challenging stuff about whether they should stand back and let history happen etc (and then the twist that they quite possibly made that history in the first place) plus Peter Capaldi was great. Maybe using the water pistol actually *inside* the volcano was a little silly, but that's all I can fault it on...
Excellent. A return to
Excellent. A return to classic form. Loved the visuals throughout, too.
.
What a fantastic episode! I was a little teary there for a moment even.
I'm thinking Donna could well be a good thing...
Quite agree. Donna has
Quite agree. Donna has proved herself to be a far better companion than I feared.
I think this is pretty much my favourite episode of Dr. Who so far.
Brilliantly twisty. They way they lead you to think that the Aliens are hiding the knowledge of the Volcano from the Oracles, but it turns out that the aliens can't actually see the future at all and are just unlocking that ability in humnans.
My gripes for this week are:
1) What was the marble Integrated Circuit Board for? No components were plugged into it, despite the little leg holes marked on it.
{yeah, yeah, I know it's just a visual short hand for "techy" stuff, and I shouldn't take it seriously}
2) Almost exactly 2 minutes after saying he see's the universe in terms of fixed and flux, he has to get some bad guy monologuing in order to see that what's happening is not natural.
My flatmate pointed out that the fixed and flux line is very similar the way that Rose talked after looking into the heart of the Tardis.
The fixed and flux speech
The fixed and flux speech put me in mind of Christopher Eccleston's speech in the very first episode in 2005, when he's explaining to Rose how he can feel the earth turning. I remember that little speech being the moment that sold the whole series to me at the time.
Bit of a random thought,
Bit of a random thought, but...
Try explaining to someone who's never had a Dairy product what the difference in smell is between 2 day old milk, and milk that's gone off.
Now try and explain what senses a timelord has. "It's difficult to explain" is not always a cop out.
p.s. I wrote that as "timlord" originally.
Christ, Tim has probably
Christ, Tim has probably been waiting for someone to accidently call him Timlord for his whole life. One slip on the keyboard and he now has a new title that he'll insist we all refer to him as from now on!
I sensed this day would
I sensed this day would come...
I knew you'd know that I
I knew you'd know that I knew you'd sensed this.
.
All Hail the TIMLORD!!
I'll get the bucket of
I'll get the bucket of icecubes!
denseness
I really had to think about that for a minute (hey, where's the embarrassed smiley? stupid site..)
.
Yeah, who designed it anyway, it's rubbish!
Just had a terrible and disturbing vision of Tim insisting Lisa call him 'The Timlord' during um, inappropriate moments.
My mind eyes, they burn!!!!
I've
I've sorted out the smilies, just in time!
I hadn't had the Timlord
I hadn't had the Timlord thought - I think I prefered it that way
.
Sorry! I really shouldn't come here when I'm stoned.
