Another Who spoiler, or possibly tabloid guff...
That august journal The Sun has published the latest in a long line of supposed Doctor Who spoilers, concerning a certain bit of very interesting casting... don't read on if you don't want to know!
According to the Sun, Peter Davison - who played the fifth Doctor back in the early 80's - is set to make a return to the new series, and meet his tenth incarnation in the first "multiple Doctor" story of the new show. The Sun reckon this will be happening in a special Children in Need episode, to be screened in November (on CIN night).
There are two good reasons why this might be absolute bollocks - firstly, the report is in the Sun (although they have been both wrong and right on these things in the past), and secondly, if true this encounter between Tennant and Davison will take place before the Christmas special, which we know will be taking place on board the Titanic (the Tardis having just crashed into it at the end of Series 3). So the chronology will be (1) Tardis crashes into Titanic, (2) Tenth Doctor encounters Fifth Doctor, somehow, presumably while the bow of the Titanic is still sticking through the wall of the Tardis, (3) Tenth Doctor goes off and has an adventure on the Titanic with Kylie. That, to me, seems a bit odd. However, it may just be that the Sun have made the bit about Children in Need up, since Davison's involvement in the new series has also been corroborated by comments from Sylvester McCoy, of all people.
Russell T Davies has famously stated that he will never do a multiple Doctor story. Of course, he also stated that he'd never bring back the Master...
