Holidays

Hols

Lisa and I are just back from a week in the Lake District, which is just about the farthest North I've ever been... lots of very lovely mountains-which-are-probably-just-hills and, well, lakes as you might expect. I bolstered my tenuous and downright fictional claim on Captain Cook's genetic inheritance by spending a certain amount of time on boats, on Windermere. In fact we spent a whole day getting ferried around on a ferry just for the hell of it, and another day piloting a little speedboat around (unfortunately that voyage was cut short by the sudden appearance of some Weather).

Damian's Big Trip

Now that we finally have broadband at home (D's had a better internet connection than we have recently) some pictures from the first few weeks of his travels can now be found in the gallery here - http://www.boinng.com/gallery/the-big-trip-of-d-man

More to come soon, when and if he comes back Smiling

crackers

by some lucky miracle, i got a christmas cracker this year! yay! did you get one too? you did?! great! share your jokes (and whatever other goodies were inside), if you remember them!

maybe i'm thinking too hard on it, but i'm still trying to make sense of my joke...

Q: What does a snail use to polish his shell?

A: Snail Varnish

ok, so they were over-priced, under-quality americanized crackers from some super-posh boutique. also included were a paper crown (silver and blue) and a mini notepad. actually, now that i think about it, it was rather disappointing after the *crack*.

Brixham ahoy

So we spent the last week in a cottage in Devon, in Brixham to be exact, which was nice. More than nice really, bloody lovely - the weather was absolutely perfect from beginning to end (right down to the sudden onslaught of rain during the drive home) and Devon was definitely on top form. Unfortunately we're back home now and apparently we both have to go to work or something, which sounds a bit rubbish.

Anyway, there's pictures in the gallery here - they're probably not fascinating to anyone else to be honest, but at least they'll give me something to look at in the office.

Holi-holiday

We are going on holiday on Saturday and i am so excited! i am really looking forward to getting away (even if it is only to Devon!) and not having to go to work! I also have Friday off this week so that means only a 4 day week yay!

Look how lovely Brixham is, i don't care if it rains every single day i'm just happy to be going Smiling
