Tim, Tim, the site search thingy here doesn't work properly, if you click to see all the results under anything you get a server error. Also, i would imagine that if it did work, it wouldn't pass the boolean query over properly, and a search for Women AND Hats would become a search for Women OR Hats. just make the journals automatically generate a forum topic with the journal entry as the first post then...

tim, tim, you know what else you could do?
notify the poster of the journal when comments have been posted on his journal entry
