Site outage

We had a fairly major outage this morning, and things still aren't quite right now - for instance the Gallery isn't working, which I've reported to Imhosted.
If you see/experience any other remaining problems, PLEASE let me know so I can get them sorted, ta.

Yikes... well things got worse (quite a bit worse) before they got better, but now things look okay - we're actually on a whole new server now, and I'm being promised things should be a bit more stable from now on. Here's hoping

I'm sure the bouncing planet in the logo is now spinning fractionally slower than it used to.
It'll take a few minutes to notice it - just look at the planet and concentrate......

Don't joke, I'm a bit jumpy about all this... I won't go into the technicalities, but what happened today served as a reminder to me of how old (and rickety) this place is becoming. Ideally, it could do with some serious development work from someone who (a) knows what they're doing, and (b) has lots of time on their hands, and that person isn't me

A combination. Essentially IMH decided to apply some changes to the server which most up to date PHP apps would have been okay with... Boinng wasn't, because its code is old and some of it works in certain ways which are considered a bit old fashioned now. They've since reversed the changes and put us on a better server, and also given me some assurances that they aren't about to try it again, but I'm still a bit nervous about the future.. It's something I need to investigate, anyway.

Nothing to do with my very happy marriage, lots to do with the fact I have a day job and no professional coding experience.
However Imhosted seem happy with things as they are, and so does the site, so maybe it's not such a big issue after all.
