poll voting

not a bug as such, more a query.

How does the poll work out if you've already posted today?

Cause, frinstance, I voted yesterday evening, and so now it won't let me vote. Does it work on 24 hours from the last vote, or is it just being silly?

Re:poll voting

poll-fiddling eh? hmm... what time was it you voted yesterday? i think it might be a 24 hour cookie thing, but i'll have to check the code later to see... it's a bit kludgey really, i might try to figure out a better way someday...

Re:poll voting

Ani, just go back to sleep. Your vote actually doesnt count anyway. It adds it in so you can see it, but once you step away it takes it back out. Something about you eating all the cookies.

Re:poll voting

i have no idea what that means, but i did NOT eat all the cookies!!! i only had 3.. it's my hubby who's the cookiemonster..

(p.s. going back to sleep would be REALLY REALLY nice, but i cant stupid work and extra work. at the theatre again this week and next. 42nd street this time. i'm not overly impressed with the show, but i've only seen bits and pieces. i am however impressed with the sheer amount of costumes for this production! from intermission to the end of the show is 60 minutes. from intermission until 30 mins after the show, all i do is HANG COSTUMES UP. criminy! and of course, most of them are heavily beaded, making some of the dresses weigh like 20lbs each.. hard for my girly muscles to carry too many at a time!)

Re:poll voting

Marvellous, I'm on my way

I am addicted to the smell and sounds in the theatre. My most favourite sound in the whole wide world is when the musicians warm up before a musical. It makes me all toasty inside

Re:poll voting

i love the smell too, unless i happen to be standing next to a very sweaty (and smelly) actor/dancer/performer. the venue this show is at is my favorite.. and supposedly haunted, which makes it even better! i've witnessed a few lights turning themselves on and off, but that's as far as i've seen. there's an eerie sensation, too, when you walk onto the stage, but i dont know if that's the ghost or if it's the stage.

Re:poll voting

Spooky A lot of theatres seem to have ghosts, which is quite understandable. If you like theatre, there is always going to be that little bit of your soul that wants to stay in the theatre for ever. Well I think so anyway.

I am rubbish at acting so have never been able to take it up. Someone took me on to the stage in a real London theatre once and I felt so completely comfortable there, like I belonged. My sister (who was with us) pffft at me and said 'What are you on about? You're just standing on a wooden platform with seats infront of it'

Back to the subject of ghosts in theatres, I did manage to be an amateur show once and members of the cast who were wearing hats kept saying someone was tugging at them and when they turned round there was nobody there.
