What I hate about these sorts of films is that they're not making any kind of judgment about the originals, or what needed improving or preserving in them, they're just about looting through the studio's family silver to make a little easy money. They'll save x million by hiring crappy writers and not having to do anything creative, regurgitate half of the plot from one film and half from a sequel, steal a load of characters from something else, base the whole thing in LA instead of Paris to save on location shoots, add in a couple of rent-a-celeb cameos to make it current, and voila - one prepackaged slice of recycled crap with a virtually guaranteed box-office return.

If you didn't like the originals you're not going to watch this, and if you did like the originals you're still not going to watch this; it's just aimed squarely at the film-illiterate who never heard of Peter Sellers or Clouseau, but think that crazy Steve Martin guy sounds whacky with the french accent and funny hat (which he stole off a dead man).
