Holidays are coming...

I haven't seen the obligatory Coke ad yet, but it must just be around the corner - I'm already feeling very christmassy, and looking forward to our first crimbo in Rogate. I think it helps that it's already freezing cold most days at the moment - looks like we're in for a proper winter this year.
Next weekend we'll be getting the tree up, and will have all the fun of finding out what the cats make of their first christmas decorations... a lot of brightly coloured shreds I suspect ![]()
Are you feeling it yet, or still stuck in miserable november?

I've seen the ad several times over the past 3 days. But since I'm now boycotting coke I'm not filled with carbonated cheer by it any more.
You put your tree up at the beginning of December?? Surely then the novelty wears off a bit early? Make sure none of your baubles are glass and that you tie the tree to something sturdy.
Happy Christmas!

I very rarely drink the stuff, and my inner englishman balks at all the americanism of it (even the title of this thread is all wrong really), but still those ads are a nice tradition... and they did invent father christmas!
I like Christmas to be more of a season than a day... get the decorations up nice and early, and milk all the cheer for all its worth. It's a waste otherwise! What's the point in keeping it all packed up till christmas eve, only to take it all down again a few days later... mind you, I'm still trying to persuade Lisa that Christmas isn't finished with by boxing day. After the run up (aka the first few weeks of December) proper Christmas lasts for at least one full week. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are but two days, amongst the equally important boxing day, day after boxing day, day after the day after boxing day, day before the day before new year's eve, and so on and so forth. It should be at least January 2nd before anyone even thinks about taking their paper hat off.
It helps if you don't have to work over Christmas, which I don't incidentally, and I think that probably ought to be enshrined in law. The whole country should get that week off. Apart from publicans, obviously.

You may recall that my decorations in my Town Lane room didn't get tooken down for a whole year, or however long it was from Christmas to moving to Lower Wardown!
My decs go up the weekend after next, as soon as I remember where they've been taken to!

Personally, I wish it could be Christmas every day. Particularly when the kids start singing and the band begins to play.
When the snowman brings the snow...

I LOVE Christmas. I can't
I LOVE Christmas. I can't WAIT to put the decorations up, esp as we have brought some particularly crap lights to go in our window this year! I LOVE every single thing about Christmas from the tat, to the Coke ad, to the crap on telly to the bit where everyone pretends they are having the best time ever to Boxing Day. Then that's it as far as i'm concerned, take down the decorations, may as well go back to work. I wish it could be Christmas EVE everyday - now that would be something...
p.s. can we start a petition to get the Snowman (complete with David Bowie intro) on it's right and proper day (i.e 4pm Christmas Eve on Channel 4) please???
