what's actually happened here is that while i've been playing with Magpie RSS (see the other thread) php error reporting has been switched back on, so one or two "errors" that have always been there have suddenly appeared... i've "fixed" this for now (by turning error reporting off again, is that cheating?) but i'll take another look at this later.
