J.K. Rowling announces Deathly Hallows release date
Submitted by MickyBoinng on Thu, 01/02/2007 - 13:39.J.K. Rowling, who has been described on this website before as a "literary assassin", has announced that the seventh and final episode of her phenomenally successful Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, will in fact be released at midnight on Saturday, 21st July, 2007. This will put an end to much pointless speculation amongst fans and book stores, who have been essentially making up dates ever since the announcement of the title in December.
The full press release can be read here.
I was having a really bad day, too. Is it wrong that I can be this cheered up by a book's release date?

Philip K Dick
Submitted by Lisa on Thu, 14/09/2006 - 09:34.I'm reading a Philip K Dick book at the mo, i'm enjoying it but i'm SO confused. I don't ordinarily read this type of book (would you describe it as sci-fi?) but i love reading and Tim loves him so i thought i'd give it a go...
The thing is, i have NO idea what the hell is going on and i've nearly finished the whole thing - it's all gone a bit mad, i'm not sure whether in the story it's all the lead characters imagination, whether they are in some kind of parallel universe or maybe i've imagined the whole thing!
I might have to get Tim to explain the whole thing to me in some kind of summary format that simpletons like me will be able to understand!!
Book signing by Dr Who writers
Submitted by CrazyDave on Tue, 18/07/2006 - 16:49.It looks like there will be a book signing of a new Dr Who illustrated story book, in London on Saturday 12th August.
I'm not sure which of the writers also wrote for the TV series, but the following should be at the siging: Steven Moffat , Mark Gatiss, Gareth Roberts , Robert Shearman, Tom Macrae, Nicholas Briggs, Alister Pearson, Martin Geraghty & Clayton Hickman.
Unfortunately I have to be at a wedding, so I'll probably just pre-order.
Advice for attending signing follows.
