So it looks like this will be the last blog entry as Tim's blowing up the site (I could have sworn that happened before). Since last summer I started up my phd, I've been playing badminton 3 times a week and I'm actually becoming quite good at it. I'm now playing official competitions which is always quite exciting, but takes up a lot of time. I have almost no time left to visit sites like these (I'm one of those few people who're not on Facebook or any other crap like that).

I know general titles suck, sorry First of thanks for the sweet messages in my inbox in response to my last blog entry, it's nice knowing you have friends out there who care.

I have some great news! Last Monday my oldest sister gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, called Jasper. So now I'm an auntie and I'm really excited, he's such a sweet baby, you should see him!

Some update about my life might be interesting for anyone who cares... After 4 years of study I am now graduated from university as a computer scientist (informatician, we say). I'm starting a Ph.D. in October, working in the field of bio-informatics in a team of both biologists as computer scientists etc. I'm very excited about this, it's what I've been wanting to do for years, in fact it's exactly what I want to do!

So I'm leaving in a bit, I'm going to Mol to work there for 2 weeks, for free! It's for my thesis I have to write this year (about bio-informatics) and the idea is to learn a bit about the biology aspect (which I know little about...)
I'll be staying in a dormitory (at least I don't have to pay for that) but I probably won't have internet access on my room. I might be able to get my laptop on the internet somewhere downstairs though. So we'll see, I won't be around too much

update : turns out the only internet room for two whole dormitories is in my hallway, yay!
plus it's really nice here, my room has it's own shower and a very nice desk etc.

I'm leaving on holiday in about an hour! My friend and I are taking the car and will be driving around in europe a bit, probably france or holland, we've not decided yet... I know I just started this http://www.boinng.com/game up, but I'll be back next week already... See you then

today i've managed to get my driving license, hooray!

I posted here yesterday, half an hour before my first exam this month, but i must have forgotten to press 'publish'
I'm not around as much as i used to be, partly because of exams, and partly because of wikipedia.org, where i'm a sysop on the nl version, and it's all pretty cool. a lot of vandalism, which is frustrating, but still a great project to work on... really addictive though.

sometimes i think i should do something to get more life here on boinng.. last year i had a great plan and all, and i was going to do it in the summer, but then it was october again and uni and now it's exams again still have that plan though, but i'm not sure enough people here would still care
