Arcadia

Just remebered this :|

The other day, I was in a school play. Tom Stoppard's Arcadia. We have had a couple of months to rehearse, and it was all so badly organised, I was surprised the teachers let us do it in the state it was in. And here's the worrying thing:

It worked.

It went nearly perfectly smoothly. And Arcadia, if anyone knows it, is NOT an easy play to get right. But we had the exact right people doing the exact right part. I played two parts, Gus Coverly and Augustus Coverly. Gus is an autistic dumb genius, who is in love with another character called Hannah. Augustus is another character nearly 200 years previously (it's a confusing play) who is there to link Gus to the past.

It was one night only, but I want to do it again. The adrenaline rush was amazing. A lot of people told me I did my character perfectly. Oh, what I wouldn't give to do just one more showing! I've not experienced that before.

Read it! I loved every minute of it.

Thomasina - Is carnal embrace...like love?
Septimus - Oh no, it's much nicer than that.

Long live Arcadia!
